Information about Kamp K-9
September 10 is the next class start date (there are two slots available), after that they will start again the first full week of January.
The Canine Leadership Class is $299 for 6 weeks per family unit (not extended relatives, as in they must live in the same house) and no limit on the number of dogs, Wednesdays from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. (held outside of All Paws Grooming, 212 North 3rd Street, Jacksonville Beach, FL) is held to 8 families, which sometimes means more dogs than that. The first night class will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and does not include student dogs, humans only. I do not screen your dogs for behavior; that's why the humans are there. Not all humans or dogs start great, but if you look at my feed on www.Facebook.com/kampk9jaxbch, everyone winds up having a blast, and we often hear how well-behaved the dogs are from the public when we do our graduation walk.
Loose leash walking through dog/human socialization, treat distractions/leave it command, dog gauntlet, doorways, confined spaces, handling other dogs, and our graduation pack walk out into the rest of the public in crowded areas are the hallmarks of the class; sometimes, depending on the dogs and their state of mind, I show some additional management skills for pack leaders. All graduates are welcome to attend all portions of subsequent classes at no charge. Come as often as you like
Personal session:
I will come to your house for 2-2.5 hours, and we will talk briefly about dog psychology and instinct training (I'll bring you this information in a bullet list format). I'll bring you 2 slip leashes per dog (slip leashes are not forever leashes but they are the same they use on every breed in every dog show and in your vet's office), teach you how to use them, and then we'll take your dog(s) for a structured leadership walk. Everything you learn on this walk transfers to what you do as a pack leader for the rest of everything else. After we get back, we'll address anything else you would like. You'll be doing everything before I leave, and then it's up to you to stay consistent with everything. While you can always get back to me by phone/text/email, if we both decide an in-person follow-up is required, then it is just one hour and $150. The cost of the first visit for your pup(s) is dependent on the issues. I work around your schedule, so early evenings, weekdays, and weekends are available if they are available on my schedule.

Aloha ‘Aina Beach Walk , 8:30 a.m., end of Atlantic Boulevard (until November when it switches to the Jax Beach pier), no signup, no cost, we meet and begin walking for about 25-30 minutes, stop and get a big group picture, and wander back! I usually have between 25-50 dogs, all ages, all breeds, and it’s a great opportunity to be in the right state of mind with other pack leaders! The next one is on August 31!
